How to Fix the Windows 10 Automatic Repair – Windows 10 Automatic Repair problems are marked by the appearance of Preparing Automatic Repair when turning on your PC or laptop. Then a blue screen appears with the message Automatic Repair, Your pc did not start correctly. So we can’t use the laptop because we can’t enter Windows 10.

Automatic Repair is a mechanism from Windows 10 to fix system problems automatically when Windows starts. However, when the mechanism fails to fix it, a blue screen will appear with the error Automatic Repair couldn’t repair your PC. This error appears repeatedly or loops when we restart the laptop or PC.

This problem can be caused by various things ranging from an imperfect shutdown process, problematic windows update processes, antivirus, and others. To overcome this problem, of course, we have to do several ways. Start from the simplest. This is so that data and applications are not lost from our laptops.

How to Fix the Windows 10 Automatic Repair

How to Fix the Windows 10 Automatic Repair

1. Restart the Laptop or PC

The first step that must be tried to overcome automatic repair on Windows 10 is to restart the laptop or PC. The trick is to press the Restart button on the display. If it still fails then you can try shutdown by pressing the power button for a few seconds. Then restart the laptop.

This is necessary because sometimes problems occur due to an imperfect shutdown process, power failure, or hardware configuration changes. By turning off and turning on the laptop, it is hoped that the system will repair automatically when booting. Of course, without eliminating the files and applications in it.

But if it still doesn’t work then we need to do the next method.

2. Use Windows 10 Startup Repair

The next step is to start repair which is available in the options menu. When the blue screen appears with the Automatic Repair display, there will be an Advanced options button. Here are the steps:

  • Click Advanced options.
  • Select Troubleshoot.
  • Then click the Advanced options menu.
  • After that click Startup repair.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

If successful, the system will restart automatically after the process is complete with the data remaining safe or not lost. However, if the process takes longer than 1 hour, it means the process has failed. Do the next method.

3. Repair Windows 10 with CMD using Regback

Regback is used to repair registry errors. This step needs to be tried to solve system errors due to a problematic registry. Here are the steps:

  • First, click on the Advanced options button.
  • Then click Troubleshoot.
  • After that click Advanced options.
  • Then select Command Prompt. Then cmd will appear.
  • Type copy c:\windows\system32\config\RegBack\* c:\windows\system32\config\ then press Enter .
  • Type A then Enter if the Overwrite (Yes/No/All) question appears in cmd. However, if after doing step 5 appears The system cannot find then this method cannot be used.
  • Close cmd. Then click Continue.

Then the laptop should restart and be able to enter Windows normally and the data is not lost. But if it still doesn’t work after restarting then try the next method.

4. Reset Windows 10

This step will delete all the apps on your laptop or PC. But the data on the laptop is still safe because we will choose not to delete the data. You can try resetting the PC if the previous 3 methods didn’t work. Follow the steps below:

  • Click on the Advanced options button
  • Then select Troubleshoot.
  • Then click Reset this PC.
  • After that select Keep my files to not delete files on our PC or laptop.
  • Then click Reset. Wait until the process is complete.

The method above is very powerful because it removes all problems caused by Windows applications and configurations. Generally, problems on laptops occur due to incorrect settings and application failures. By doing a reset, Windows seems to be new again without reinstalling. All applications are deleted even the initial display after a successful reset like we open a newly reinstalled window.

If these 4 method still fails. Then you can try the next method.

5. Reinstall Windows on PC or Laptop

The previous four methods show that the problem with the laptop is not too serious. But if it turns out that these 4 methods don’t work then it indicates that there is a problem with the OS file system. This can happen because the system file is corrupted due to being deleted by a virus, antivirus, or other application. So we need to re-install.

The previous method was carried out without losing data. But this last method can eliminate data on the partition or drive where Windows is located. For that please first backup all files using Live OS from USB.

This method is not recommended for beginners. But if you want to try it, please read the full method in the tutorial How to Install Windows 10.

Closing

With the 5 methods above, the Windows 10 Automatic Repair problem that occurs repeatedly can be resolved. The steps above are tiered steps from the mild to the most severe problem, namely reinstalling.
